Luray, Iowa - 2
I lived on a hill overlooking the abandoned site of the town of Luray, Iowa in the 1960's. I don't know any of the history.
The location was in the northwest corner of Timber Creek TWS, Marshall county, on S75, Marsh Ave., a
mile south of highway 30.
It was reported by old-timers to have been a railroad stop. Even the rail tracks are gone now also. The farmer who farmed the land over the site got his tractor stuck in an abandoned well once.
It is hilarious to see it listed as populated.
